At Hinge, we take our responsibility to keep the Hinge Community safe incredibly seriously. Your privacy and safety are of the utmost importance to us, and submitting reports in the Hinge App is an important and helpful resource for us to make sure we maintain authenticity, integrity and honesty within the Hinge Community.
Submitting reports is serious. Each report is considered as we take action on an account and in our content moderation and safety protocols. Reports are confidential. When you submit a report, we will not disclose your identity or information from the report in order to protect your privacy and safety
We trust our users to report behavior that falls in violation of our Member Principles and Terms of Service. That said, some things will NOT be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban.
Deliberate False Reports. If you are not interested in a profile or not interested in the person displayed in the profile, you should remove them.
As stated in our Terms of Service, Hinge users may not “harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, assault, defame, harm or otherwise mistreat any person.”
Furthermore, reviewing false and baseless reports takes the attention of our content moderation and trust and safety teams away from critical work we are doing in service of the continued protection and safety of the Hinge community.
Reporting someone because they are not your type will result in a consequence (i.e., a warning or lifetime ban) on your profile.
Reporting someone for a discriminatory reason—such as their (actual or perceived) gender identity, gender expression, race, color, religion, or disability—will result in a ban.
